Curling Rules

CRUSH RULES:
•    Game Time/Default: Please arrive 15 minutes early so that you can start your games on time.
•    Games are 2 hours in length, and 8 ends are to be played in that time.
•    Twenty minutes before the two hour time limit a horn will be sounded. Finish the current end and   play one more end.
•    Ties will be broken by playing one truncated end with each player playing one stone. The Free Guard Rule will be in force for the first two stones (lead stones).
•    In the Championship Round, tie breakers will be regular extra ends.
•    Teams are comprised of four (4) players; however a team can play with 3 players.  A default will occur if any team cannot field the minimum requirement of players by 15 minutes after the official start time.
•    A team of more than four people is allowed to have players sitting out each end, or having people on the team only throw one rock each.
GENERAL RULES:
•    All games shall be 8 ends as long as they can be completed in the 2 hour window.
•    The winner of a coin toss shall have the choice of last rock or handle color.
•    Positions alternate throwing rocks, throwing 2 rocks each team.
•    The rocks must completely cross the hog line to stay in play.
•    Throwers must release the rock before the hog line.
•    If a rock hits the sideboard or the sidelines, they are out of play.
•    A team can only begin to sweep the oppositions rock(s) once it has completely passed the T-line (the line that intersects the house).
•    Only one sweeper can sweep past the T-line per rock.
•    Curlers using an extender can proceed to the Hog Line for delivery.
•    All curlers MUST wear clean shoes on the ice.

TIE BREAKER RULES FOR PLAYOFFS

If a playoff game ends in a tie at the end of regulation time, a tie breaker will be played to decide a winner. The tie breaker will be as follows.
•    Coin toss: The team winning the coin toss will decide whether they will curl first or second.
•    An extra end will be played with each player only throwing 1 rock.
•    In a Championship game, a full extra end will be played.
