Volunteers

Wine Country Curling Volunteers

In the spirit of curling Wine Country Curling continues its volunteer work. In the past Eric Hazard and Jerome Larson have volunteered for a multitude of national and international competitions. Starting in 2000 both members were officials for the United States National Championships. As a prelude to the 2003 Salt Lake Olympics both again were volunteer Officials for the Junior World Championships. 2002 brought the two to Salt Lake City and statistics officials for the Winter Olympics.

Following the excitement of those Olympics the two again volunteered to work the Junior World Championships in Pinerolo, Italy as a test event for the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics. They followed that up with the Torino, Olympics.

And as the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia are fast approaching, volunteers from Wine Country Curling have made their applications to work the event. Expectation is that a number of the club members will be involved with that event.

As a statistician, Larson has also worked World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland and Bismarck, North Dakota. Additionally, the volunteer bug has taken him to Grindelwald, Switzerland and Courmaeur, Italy for the European Championships.

And with the upcoming United States Olympic Trials, Larson is off to Denver at the end of February to bring his expertise to that event as well.

Wine Country Curling is proud of the volunteer work that its members bring to the community as well as the curling fraternity.
